Following practising as a lawyer in New Zealand and the UK for 7 years, Stuart has gained 23 years experience in banking across various roles with the wider NAB group.  Before joining Project Finance at  NAB in 2002, he worked for 15 years for Bank of New Zealand, most recently as Director, Project and Property Finance.  During this time his transactional experience covered work-out/credit recovery, corporate, credit,  project and property financing.  

Stuart moved onto the equity side of the Bank when he joined Structured Property Finance at its inception as a Director in 2006. As the team grew he became Head of the Australian operation with 14 direct reports. At the end of 2008 the markets were in turmoil and Stuart elected to move back into the workout space becoming a Director in SBS Sydney. Later in the year the Bank decided to set up an SBS Equity team focusing on managing and working out the Banks distressed equity positions or those equity positions arising out of distressed debt positions. Stuart is currently Head of this team.

Christina is a director in the Corporate Advisory and Restructuring group in Australia specialising in assisting companies, their lenders and other stakeholders in underperforming businesses. She has extensive experience in debt restructuring, credit monitoring and assessment, independent business reviews including identification of exit options and cash management advice, implementing recovery solutions, as well as PMO set up and delivery both within Australia and the United Kingdom.

Christina has worked across a number of industries, recently these have included entertainment and media, hotel and leisure, retail and property.

David has focussed exclusively on non-insolvency restructuring work for the past six years including two years with Deloitte Consulting in New York where he gained considerable experience working in formal (Chapter 11) and informal distressed business restructurings.  David’s primary focus is to work with stakeholders and management teams of corporates to rapidly address the causes of under performance or financial distress and develop initiatives to drive shareholder value.  David has worked in a wide range of sectors and his assignments vary from crisis management situations, development of business plans, implementation of turnaround strategies and financial restructuring.

Emanuel has experience acting in voluntary administrations, deeds of company arrangements, receiverships and liquidations.  He also advises on the restructure of financially distressed entities. Acting for and advising banks, financiers, corporate clients and specialist insolvency administrators, Emmanuel has worked on a number of large insolvencies, including the liquidation of HIH Insurance Limited.

In his current role he is responsible for managing a portfolio of non-performing loans within Westpac's institutional bank, ranging from large syndicated transactions to smaller bi-lateral facilities.

Jason joined KPMG in 1998 and has been with McGrathNicol since its commencement in 2004. He has specialised in insolvency and restructuring advisory work throughout his career, and has substantial experience in the management of a broad range of restructuring and formal insolvency engagements.  In recent times, Jason has:

  • Advised the lending syndicate to Babcock and Brown on numerous facility restructures and continues to advise the group on the solvent wind-down of the Group;
  • Advised the syndicate of lenders to a power and steam plant on a successful restructure mid-development; and
  • Is currently advising a group of bondholders on the restructure of a large PPP project.

Jason has also consulted to a number of successful large Australian and multinational corporates to improve their cash management and working capital processes.

 Martyn Strickland is a results orientated professional with over 15 years experience in business analyses, strategy development and operations improvement in both consulting and industry roles. Martyn’s experience extends across a wide range of industries including Mining Services, Diversified Manufacturing, Consumer Goods (Food and Beverage), Telecommunications, Retail Banking and Insurance.
 
Martyn provides hands-on advisory services to senior management to improve business performance across a number of dimensions.  Prior to joining 333 Consulting, Martyn spent ten years with A.T. Kearney where he led the Sydney Operations practice and the Australian training program.  Prior to consulting, Martyn worked with Cadbury Schweppes in Australia and the UK where he focused on operations improvement and management including leading the Schweppes Australia TQM and Operations Improvement programs, and managing production and logistics activities.
  
Martyn holds an MBA from the University of Melbourne and London Business School and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Melbourne University.
